Here is my scaglietti!
you might have seen my nearly done progress thread. Well, after that this little bugger received a fresh coat of paint and lotsa clear, with the obligate polishing and waxing.
So far so good, the car looks quite good to my standards.
What has been changed to the kit build?
-chrome bleached off and painted.
-ride height dropped in front and rear of about 1 MM
-exhaust pipes redone
-detail painting around
-thinning of all the parts of the body
-changed the windscreen wipers
-built engine-less and glued close hood, because of a major fuckup and the wait for a new scaglietti to make.
-the horsey on the back is a piece out of the extra box, thinned and made black for a greater impact.
That's about it, a simple model, some small improvements and voila, a nice eyecatcher.
Oh, did I mention it's also very big and ugly?
Enjoy the pics, which came out very good IMO!

Well, here we go again. I just replied on the Austin and might as well have a go on this one to.
In some of the pics I could swear that it's the real deal. Amazing work! Looking very good but as you write the ugly one. I too think it's an ugly one, but this is one of those cars you have to see a couple of times and then it starts growing under your skin. The ugly duckling turns out to be a swan.
Thank you for the peek!

Stunning job! I think this car looks sooo good in silver... it looks cool in black too, though. I might be building a black one some day...
Sorry to hear about the engine!
Did you encounter any further problems while building the kit?

Amazing build, it looks so bloody real in the photos!!
Super job!!! and you don't even like it ;)
You know my opinion about the car
PS I've still got a couple of my decal/chrome-free 612 kits - if you want one, it's yours
PPS - put some wash on the rims!! j/k

You did a great job on this ugly/bland Ferrari :smokin: .
The pics make it look real. Lowering helps tremendously. I don't know why the 1:1 has to look like it's ready for off-road excursions :shakehead .
I was working on my Scaglietti this weekend at a modelpalooza w/Veyron, CADguy, Mach I 2003, GTMike400 and other ACME members and I think I made mine a bit less bland and somewhat less ugly than the 1:1 version  . Pics will follow. It looks good next to Veyron's Scags, will be a nice contrast to his 612 Stradale.

Nice work on the Scag. Never thought a Ferrari wuld look that good in shiny silver. I wonder what the fuckup at engine was??? :grinyes:
Why did you use the black horse on the trunk?? It sure has some impact, but somehow it looks like it doesn´t belong there. But nevermind, just my 2 cents.
Nevertheless, great execution of your project.

looks great. the paint is nice. although i will have to agree with you that the 612 is one of the uglier Ferraris.

That is a superb job, great looking model, would have been nice to see some interior shots though. Also please try not to use the word ugly and Ferrari in the same sentence (even if it is true!!!!!)

Superb paint job. Don;t see many silver ferrari cars. It is a boring ferrari, but your build makes up for that.. Stunning work, what happened to the engine?

I'm not too familiar with this car, but I don't think it's all that ugly, especially not in this form. The paint/photography is awesome, and I like the black horse!

Thank you guys,
after a week on holidays, I decided to check on the threads, and I m quite surprised to see all those talented modelers reply to my thread!
Thanks, pals!
Olivier
PS. the fuckup on the engine was basically just because I had to redo the top part of the engine, because it was pretty badly done. I didn't find the courage, so I closed it.
Don't worry. There will be a second coming, someday.
