IAT Sensor for 2001 - where is it?

Okay, I'm not an expect on cars or anything but I just read a post that said the AIT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor is inside the air filter housing for the '96, so I looked in mine (an '01) but don't see a sensor...but I'm not 100% sure what it looks like either although there is not much of anything in the housing. Anyway, can someone tell me where it is and what I should be looking for? And is this a fairly easy part to replace, in other words, could I do it myself?
The AIT sensor is coming up as a code (P0113 IAT Sensor I Circuit High Input) along with Cylinder 6 misfire. I replaced all of my plugs and the car is still shaking/puttering very badly so it's got to be the sensor.
Please help me!!! There are so many things wrong with this car that I can't afford to fix them all, so I'm trying to do as much of it as possibly at home.
thanks,
Kristy
