Hi,
My wife's 97 civic LX got an oil change at the dealer when they changed the timing belt. The dealer used a filter, honda 4T22, on the car, which is different than what it calls for. This filter is much easier to get to; it sticks out past the CV axle, and goes on and off easier. I would like to know what this Honda 4T22 filter translates into as far as a purolator or Delco or wix or something like that I can get at Autozone for when I change the oil. Thanks!

if you regularly change your oil filter, any brand filter will get the job done.

Yes, but the 4T22 was shaped differently, and that's what I am going for here. The shape of the 4T22 made it much easier to get on/off. Anyone got any ideas what the 4T22 translates to in another brand?

Z142A is what you would be looking for...
It is a heavy duty version of the Z79A filter!!
It is larger in all directions but if you compare them, they will will have the same size oil seal and thread sizes.
Good luck
