i have a dodge ram 1500 , 4.7L magnum v8, my first issue in this area. The abs and brake warrning light came on and now the truck wont stop for crap - I checked the fuses and relays as best I can, found one 15 amp trailor fuse blown - where do I go from here? Am I forced back to the dealer.

is it a 4x4? im not sure, but i believe there are wheel sensors either on the axles and/or on your wheel bearings, if so equipped that monitors wheel speed. thats how the vehicles abs computer determines when to engage the system. you need to have it scanned in the air to see what sensor is failing. take it to a monro muffler if your near one. i know our shop scans for abs problems, for free. autozone might be able to scan it also. the ABS light is basically a check engine light, except for your braking system. it has its own codes.

I have bad news, take it to the dealer.Only scan tool that will read the abs codes is Diamler Chrysler's factory scan tool,DRB III.This is what Diamler Chrysler is doing, keeping their abs information hush, hush.Daimler Chrysler is withholding their abs information from the public and has not realeased anything out yet.Only aftermarket scan tool that I know that will read the codes also is the Mastertech made by Vetronix.
