I have been reading about BoV's and how venting into the atmosphere is a bad thing. Well I bought a K&N FIPK for my car and installed it and lo and behold, I hear this woosh sound that I take is from my stock BoV. It sounds great hearing my baby sucking in air and the woosh going off.
However, I have been shopping for BoV's and all that I see say "Vents to the atmosphere." My questions are as follows:
1. Will my engine be damaged due to the BoV venting to the atmosphere until I get a new BoV?
2. Are there some kind of kits that prevent the BoV' from venting into the atmosphere and sending the air back into the turbo?

Thanks in advance for your input and advice.

1. You wouldnt notice much of a difference in engine wise because you cannot see or feel it. The car would run too rich because it will be mixing more fuel than air.

2. Some aftermarket bov's come with recirculation kits which goes right back into the intake. Ex: Hks ssv (ssvq), greddy type S, and so on.

Don't vent it attracts attention, and isn't great for your car. recirculating helps keep the turbo moving thru shifts. But if you must vent, do it right, get a GM 3" maf and maf-t to tune it properly. I don't think your FIPK will work with the gm and maft setup. Venting does nothing for performance.

That is the whole thing. I don't want to vent to the atmosphere. My car gets too much attention as it is. When I am driving, sometimes I am in uniform. At a red light I hear a car next to me rev his up. I look at him and he does i again. I smile and put my left hand on the top of the steering wheel and then he sees my sheriff patch. You should see the looks on their faces :evillol:
I want to do the right things for my car. So I will look for these routing kits. Thank you for your responses

Did your car come with the little hose that goes from the stock BOV to the intake pipe? If so, you can get either a 1g BOV, or a Greddy type S BOV, and they both have the same diameter of the stock BOV outlet. So, you can use the stock hose for recirculation on those 2 aftermarket BOVs.

If so, you can get either a 1g BOV,

Best idea yet.....it will cost you about $40 on ebay and it's much better than the 2g POS.
