1999 Olds Alero GLS - I've been reading a number of posts regarding the common problems with the blower resistor and window regulator(s). Are these things difficult to do yourself? Does anyone have information about installation procedures for either one of these things? Any advice would be much appreciated...Thank you

The resistor is located under the dash next to the fan. Remove the fan, remove the resistor and then replace in reverse order. To give yourself plenty or room remove the front seat. It gets quite tight if you don't.
The window regulator is more involved as you will need to remove the door panel, you will need a special tool to get the panel off. Once this is done then remove the water barrier, be careful. Once it is off you may need to drill out the rivets that hold it in place if the entire regulator is bad. If it is just the motor, you can remove it and replace the motor seperately. You can purchase window regulators with motors from e-bay at a greatly reduced price. You can also get one at a wrecking yard. Good Luck!
