Progress: Buick GSX ('bout time!)

I've been working on this one on and off for almost two years now. My initial goal was a super-detailed old hot rod. I just never could get fired up about it, not with the Z06 kit and now the C6 kit etc. and building models for friends/clients. I finally dragged it out of the box to use for polishing practice. I think I may be getting the hang of it. Paint is Krylon White, no primer, but I think this one may have some Krylon Clear over the decals. Blah blah blah, here's the pics!

I'm not very good with foil trim. At all. I took the spoiler off to polish the trunk, you can see it off to the side in one picture. Other than that, not much else to say. Feedback please!

It seems to me that you
A. allready know how to polish a paint work.
or
B. learn very quick how to polish a paint work.

Looks very sharp to me, nice touch with the washer bottle, have to try that one.
don't put on the clear coat unless you think it's needed for protection, the decals look just fine with a little semi-gloss apperance.

Nice color choice. Most of them were made in Yellow, but I definitely prefer the white. I actually had a white one that I built on here about 2 years ago. It was a nice kit.

Wow. Mad props to you. That motor is killer and the paint is just flawless from here. BMF takes some practice but yours looks great. Props, dude.

nice work kat. what color did you use to simulate the coolant? also is that bare metal foil or the detail master stuff? also. if you have some clear red, you can put some in the grooves on the alternator, and it simulates the winds really well. can't wait to see the finished peice

looking good, i myself still need a lot of practice with bmf, i guess practice will help. Nice project though.

For the coolant, I used testors acrylic lime green on a very wet (with water) brush. It really took well to the rough paint (overspray) under the hood. I used detail masters, it's the only stuff they had in Midland, and I did it before I ever got on this site and knew there was something better. That stuff is already wrinkled on the sheet, there's little hope of getting it to look good, especially when you don't really know what you're doing!
