Traction Control

I have a '95 Mark VIII. The traction control light does not come on when the switch is depressed. How can I easily tell if it is a problem with the switch or something in the traction control system preventing it from engaging? Thanks.

Well if you push it, then the tires should continue burning. If its on they should only squeel a little. Thats the cheap way to find out if its working or not.
