Cleaning Engine

I bought the simple green stuff, in the spray bottle thou. How exactly do I clean my engine and what should I cover? I don't want to ruin it or have to wait days for it to dry before I can start it up...
I have the regular base model cavalier engine, nothing has been done and I don't know of any electrical problems, what should I cover/look for?

I have an aftermarket intake and what I did was covered my filter and that was pretty much it. I sprayed my engine with orange clean and then used a hose to rinse it off at a lower pressure.
After that, i sprayed orange clean on different parts under the hood and sused an old rag and wiped and scrubbed.
Water got by the spark plugs, so i just blew really hard and the water "jumped" away. I waited for like 30 minutes before i started the car.
It was also a bit sunny where i was doing this at, so the sun dried up most of the water.

So basically it's ok to not cover anything, just make sure I wait a few hours before starting my car up and also do a double-check and make sure everything is dry?
I thought their are electrical things I should cover before spraying my engine with the hose thou, that's what I meant.

Mine was a lot more dirty than yours is. I didn't look at the picture before I posted. My bad. But in your case, just spray the simple green on wherever you want it to be cleaned. Prefferably cool, and jsut take a rag and wipe and srub if needed.
I'll post a before and after on my engine.
