Daihatsu Sucks

Don't You just hate daihatsu. All the cars are ugly, I can't name one over 100hp. they all truly suck, but do ya all agree?

Daihatsu is a subsidiary of toyota, they specialise in very small cars. If you want something powerful you have to go to another part of that company, the toyota or the lexus brand. is there some other evidence that daihatsu sucks besides this name is not on the type of car you like?

Well to me they suck. I don't care what company they are from. I have read about them and seen pictures and I can tell right now that I am not interested. I don't like little boxy cars with a top speed of 50 and horsepower to match their speed. Yuck I hope Japan keeps that one at home.

If you(or someone else in this thread ) lived in Tokyo, and the only place in front of your home where you could park a car was only big enough to fit a daihatsu or something smaller, Is there another car of this size that you would like to have? I am a student in design school and I am writng a paper about the worlds ugliest car. ,Actually its about bad decisions that designers made that resulted in a car that people did'nt want. Do you think there is something unique about a daihatsu that might make it the ugliest, or is it just a visceral thing where you see one and you want to say no.

The Aztek is certainly on my top 10 list of worst looking cars ever.

The Aztek plus the rest of the Pontiac line. They just put random vents and bumps and plastic shit all over their cars. So stupid.

When I first saw an aztek, I was amazed. How could that car get put into production without anyone noticing how goofy it looked? Its in my top 10.

The only daihatsu I ever rode in was a shuttle bus that was used at a beach to bring people from the parking lot to the water. It was made out of a mini truck. I thought it was cute. I think they tried to sell cars in the U.S. around 1990. They cant have sold many here. I suspect that the scion brand might be made by daihatsu. They may have repackaged the product to make it look like honda. They dont have the history in racing and motorcycles that honda has, so I doubt anyone will think that a scion is as cool as a honda.

You do know that scion is another spinoff of toyota, correct? And that toyota is one of the best auto makers in the world? Hence why they have $60 billion in cash reserves? Just wondering.

Daihatsu needs to change their image or they will only be able to sell low-profit-margin-mini cars. Toyota should bring back the 2000 GT, put in a lexus V8, and put a daihatsu badge on it. They could sell quite a few of those.

And the reat of the Pontiac line??..Thats crazy. The plastic mold thing is a thing of the past. II think the G6 is one of the best lookin GM cars that has came out in a loooong time. The

The end result was something that looked like the aztek. The engineers blamed the stylists because it was their job to make it look good. The stylists blamed the engineers for changing it. both groups had good excuses, and their work was done.

I read something about this in car design news' forum. This is off the record. This would make a good magazine article, but I doubt that GM would co-operate.

If you think Daihatsu never made a sporty model then you never seen anything on the Storia X4, YRV Turbo (http://www.thisisthenortheast.co.uk/the_north_east/autobytes/d/daih_yrv.html), limited production FR-X (http://www.daihatsu.com/motorshow/tokyo97/fr-x/) or the Charade GTTi.

So in other words even though Daihatsu doesn't have to make some V8 sports car or even any sports car, since they can already make hatches or coupe that are sporty yet fit in with their affordable image. Now aside from the Storia X4 and, Charade GTTi vs other sporty cars of their era or even this one if tuned properly, they might not have as good performance as even a Civic Si but as long as they are just as sporty in character, have as many features or be lighter in weight yet is still cheaper they can still secure something in the line of budget performance.

I used to own a Daihatsu Feroza (Sportrak) LONG time back. though the ride was crappy, the little suv was well built and never died on me once. the Daihatsu I hate is the terious. Its disgusting, its designers probably designed it to resemble crap. man its just ugly, looks like it got its a** f**ked by a LX570 or a QX56 so hard that it caved in. :rofl:

dude that car is like 60cc and has 6 hp with 3lb-ft torque and looks like an over sized remote controlled toy (but not in a gud way) . :iceslolan
