crx vs vette

hey everyone i'm new so i figured i would tell everyone about a funny little race i won. i was drive my crx around after i got it out of the shop when this vette pulled up beside me. just messing around i ask him if he wanted to race, i figured he would say no but he said yea. then he told me that he was goin to beat me and then take my car and drive it like it should be drove. he was a little wrong on that one because when it was over i beat him by about 4 car links. it was so funny to see the look on his face when we got to the next red light. i pulled in to a gas and he came in right behind me. the first thing he ask was what all i had onder the hood so i told him and his jaw droped. i think he didn't like being beat by a 2.0L inline 4 with 520hp. well i will be posting more stories later on. if anyone wants to talk just give me a hallar. hope to hear from someone soon.

I find this story highly unlikely, but you wouldn't BS us in your first post, would you? Newbies never do that! Where's the love?

When someone wins by four links the question always arises...were you driving a car or a sausage?

This is kind of hard to believe.....cause 520 horses out of a B20? obviously you're not naturally aspirated....because even if you'd slap a vtec head on it, mod it up the ass, build both the head & block, dyno the shit out of it.....you'll be lucky if you hit 400 horses...and that's stretching it.....BIG....But I don't doubt you.....maybe you really do have that much power under the hood......until your mom woke you up to go to school.....

It is very possible to get 500+ horsepower out of a any Honda motor for that matter. Turbos are great! The reason this thread is a little hard to believe is because the lack of information and the way it was written.

How about 802 WHP, daily driven at 470 WHP on pump gas?

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1069470

519 on 91 octane swill, perhaps?

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1033030

Another 506 WHP on 93 octane pump gas.

actually I said "you'll be lucky if you hit 400 horses...and that's stretching it.....BIG"....I never said you can only get 400 horses.....you just read it wrong that’s all…..I might actually know what I'm talking about (not saying that I do) cause it's nearly impossible to pulls numbers like this guy out of a B20 that's naturally aspirated

BUT THE BIG WORD IN MY QUOTE WAS RELIABLE. I CONSIDER A RELIABLE CAR SOMETHING THAT NOT ONLY STARTS UP AND CAN GO IN FORWARD AND REVERSE BUT THAT YOU COULD TAKE ON THE FREEWAY DURING PEAK TRAFFIC AND NOT FRY THE CLUTCH. SO I GUESS THE MORE PROPER WORD WOULD BE STREETABLE.

Green's car (the one that made 802 WHP) is his daily driver and only car. I used to live in Salt Lake and still have friends there, and it's out on the street all the time. Go search on Honda-Tech, there are lots of people daily driving cars with a lot more than 300 HP.

Just for the streetable conversation, my buddy used to have a 496whp gsr that was his daily driver. He tuned it down a little when he wasn't racing. He had three settings on his laptop for the different types of driving he was doing. 420whp isn't that hard to get out of a turbo b20. It would be more convincing with more info and a dyno sheet though.

Sorry, but if your running a turbo thats putting over 300 horse, you've obviously had it dynoed and would be best to put a dyno sheet up.

The answer is simple, he beat a Chevette not a Corvette.

i was behind him.....i saw the whole race....the corvette was driving ahead of him and then parked on the side of the road (clearly giving up!) and then he zoomed by at 55mph and flicked on the hazards for the win!!!

when you have 420 at the wheels, on an ff car, it has to be un controlable, if he runs 310 he will be better i guess....besides, this was his first post, and his second is nearly a month ago..

first of all you guys are morons. I have personally been in a CRX that does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. So the fact of how much Horsepower he has isn't that big of a deal it's how light the car is. Granted his crx has an SI engine swap and its turbo with a few other goodies but it can be done I've personally been in the car when he smoked a brand new corvette and laughed at the guy at the next red light

King Of Crunk

whoa easy killer...i didn't call BS yet....i believe the guy but it would be nice to have some dyno sheets or 1/4 mile times.....most of the time i will give the dude that is posting the story the benefit of the doubt....but sometimes the stories are pretty outragous and that calls for proof....i think that's the mentality of most of us in these forums....we just like a little proof that's all...

hey nissanstreetz... was that 0-60 made with a G-Tech by chance??? Granted, the crx had the "infamous engine swap from hell" and all, shit, horsepower dosen't mean anything at all... its all about the mad tyte weight reduction yo... :sly: That's...fast. Like,... motorbike fast. Are you sure? Even fully gutted with Mickey Ts, you'd need one hell of a skilled driver to pull off 3.6 s... considering you just said your CRX is faster than more than half those exotics out there. Got any slips or anything?
