Houston, we have ignition!

Fired up the DET last night. Struggled with a big exhaust leak for a little while. Even changed gaskets. It went away as soon as I installed the O2 sensor. What a monkey. :)
Today I had to do some suspension work (had to replace a part from the argument with the forklift fork). At the same time I installed 200# springs in the rear. I moved the 275# springs from the rear to the front, replacing the 340# springs I had there before. I'm hoping this will give a really nice ride. The 340/275 was a big jiggly except on the way too and from the convention. The extra weight in the car made it ride like stock (not exaggerating). So, I'm going to try 275/200 and see how it works. I raised the front 0.25" and the rear 0.125" to go with the lower spring rates. More on this later.
I haven't test driven it yet since it needs another suspension part (they sent the wrong one initially) and it needs an R12 refill (broke a #%#@$$# line when removing the DE). I'll give it a systems check tonight when it's cooler. I hope to get it hooked up to a Consult next week.
More later.

:o Hey did you get some pics of you ride when removing & installing just to take a look at your work & your challenges.
I would love to see what a heart transplant on a car looks like!:alien:

There will be a full detailed write-up with photos coming, but not right away. You'll have to wait. :)

Thats what I said but Ihaven't done it yet, big mechanical jobs can leave you with little energy after the fact...Plus you end up drivin around a little more "testing it out" :)

Congrats Geo... Can't wait to read the write up, and see the car out here in Phoenix at next year's convention :D
I'm also very interested to hear the outcome of the new springs. I have the 340/250 setup, and it's a tad harsh, but no where near as bad as the spring rates would suggest. But just like you mentioned, I do notice the ride gets better with more weight in the car. Good luck.
