Stalling and dying?

OK... my brother's car is a 91 Civic DX...

recently the engine has started to stutter and stall and usually die when starting from a standing stop... plugs are ok, wires are ok... brand new fuel pump... any idea what this problem might be?

Would this be caused by the infamous "igniter"?

Sounds like it might be the igniter....or the fuel filter.

Try checking the vacuum hoses to see if you have a leak. Also check the distributor cap.
When my igniter went bad it would stall then it wouldn't start for nothing. Then after awhile it would start up. Then start all over again.
Is the fuel pump putting out enough pressure? Just cause it's new doesn't mean it works perfectly.

Hey!
I just had the same problem, and it finally didn't start anymore. I had to replace my ignition coil. now my 91 civic hb dx runs like the shopping cart it truly is!
