I say do the drop and the engine swap and all the other stuff that was in the second option, that sounds nice.

sorry, it's just that i am a web designer and i hate it when people can't contrast their text color well with their background color. if it hurts my eyes, then i get angry.

Well, of those options..I say go "nice and clean" with the 17s, 3 inch drop, and b16a. Drive it that way for about 6 months. Realize you're slow because your tires rub all the time and you have to crawl over every bump in the road (and still scrape against them). Then replace the cat-back that you've scratched all to hell, get some nice 16s, raise it 1.5 inches, and unwind the b16a for once.
Most people with civics that are getting into imports get 17 inch rims right away. After a few months, most of those people go for 16s or smaller after realizing that it rides like shit and generally hurt performance. I did it too... got some nice looking 17s for my civic hatch... now I roll on lightweight 15s, and have a much better ride.
Really tho... go with whatever looks and feels best for you. It's your car... yours is the only opinion that really matters. If you want something, go for it. If you don't want something, don't. It's as simple as that.
