Hey all,
I'm just here to ask one last question. It is, What should i get for my next car? I know if i get something with turbo (dsm, 240sr (sr20det), srt-4) i will crash it because i'm dumb like that. If i get a fast car, its mostly gonna be driven fast. I'm thinking about just getting a basic 95-97 240sx or a sigh... yes an Integruh lol. I use to hate those honduhs but i have no choice. I dont want to flame on them cause now i dont hate them anymore. Can u guys suggest me a car to get with the price range oif 7-8 thousand? I reallllllllllly LOVE DSM's but i dont know if i should mess with those again. Thanks in advance.

P.s. even though if i dont get a dsm il still stay on this forum to help out those who are in need. Just being helpful because i been helped b4 when i first got here.

If you love DSM's, why not just get a GS or RS? Or, you could just be RESPONSIBLE, and hold that lead foot off unless you are at a track. Anyway, whichever route you go, good luck!

i agree with clipsekid....if you looooovvveeee dsm's but you can't keep your foot of the gas, get a non-turbo. you can still have the dsm and be in the family but you won't have the need to step on it all the time.

If I had to go with an NT, I'd get a 240SX (SR20D , no turbo, 2.4 RWD) instead of an eclipse NT any day of the week. A turbo? A DSM or even a SR20DET 240 or similar...

Ok i decided its either gonna be:
(from my favorite to least)
1) 97-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse gst/x
2) 95-98 Nissan 240sx SR
3) 90-94 Nissan 240sx SR
4) 98+ Accord coupe
5) 94+ Acura Integra

They all are in my price range but i would love to have a white 2 door accord to cruise around with.

umm,.....i love Sr20's too but trust me if this kid is afraid of a really small turbo'd car then he cant handle a 240 with a sr swap :screwy: .

if he decides to get a 240sx stick with the KA engine....its fast enough to beat the older 5.0 fox stlye Mustangs.

but the problem i see with buying a 240 is thats even if its just a stock KA engine its still prity quick and im almost 100 percent positive you would end up the middle of a drifting forum which is what those cars do best, which if in my opinion your still afriad to drive a fast car in a straight line which doesnt take ANY WHERE near as much skill as it does to drift then i sugest staying away from sports cars with any kind of capabilities other than just driveing to school an back.

just because a car dosnt have a turbo doesnt mean you cant kill your self in it. :2cents:

I meant a 240 SX with that NT 2.4 they have, the non-turbo one ... what is it, an SR20DE without the "T", or the K series? I dont know (I think I'm confusing engine codes...whats the NT 2.4 ltr one on the 240s?). Those are the best bang for the buck as far as natural aspiration goes IMO.

Well from your list of optional cars, I would say just go and get another 97-99 turbo dsm. You have learned from your experience, don't deprive yourself of driving a slow ass car again. Remember, you can always have a car that has the speed readily available when needed, but you can't always have a slow car that can kick it up if needed.

Good point... Too bad i cant find an eclipse in sight in sacramento thats from a dealershit. I cannot do private business unless they want paymonths because i plan on doing a downpay on it and pay it in advance every month. I found some nice 97+ preludes though, those are almost as sexy as the 2g eclipse. Every dealershit i look at has some turbo dsm's but i perfer the non spyders, lol. Its just the way i am because i think its cool to have a car like that (smoking people with the tops down/ cruising) but thats only in the summer. When winter comes i dont want to go threw the trouble IF i had leakage. Convertibles are just not my type because i think its girly for an asian dude to drive a convertible. lol.

Go with the 240. That way if you decide in the future you want more speed you can do the engine swap. But don't do the SR20 swap. Drop a RB26DETT in it

Well well, now were making fun of asians are we??? No I'm just playin.

I would go with the GST/GSX and just keep it stock until you feel confterble. I first wanted a 240sx but decied to get the GST. When your ready to start modding again, it would be easier to just mod the GST/GSX then to swap a SR or a RB(too much work) into a 240sx and dont forget the cost!

what about a non-vr4 3000gt or dodge stealth?

I personaly think that any 240sx rout would be a total waste of his time and nmoney unless he plans on learning how to drift, which is IMHO is a really bad idea if hes still lerning to control his lead foot.

as for the NT 240sx 2.4L is the KA, their are 1.8L's too, if hes not feeling brave yet get one of those lol.

Yeah, Nissan's AWS is called SUPER-HICAS or similar (just as mitsubishi has VR-4, I think). Heard its not that beneficial unless youre at high speeds (read it on another forum somewhere).

Non-turbo route, a drifter car is so much more fun. Every turn on an empty street, jerk the handbrake and let it slidddeeeeee (for legal reasons for the morons out there who will try this and then sue me cuz they ran into 50 pedestrians and a lamp post, do NOT try this yourself, I'm only KIDDING). Good god I miss my RWD diesel Sentra.

I don't get the whole "brave enough" deal about getting a turbo though. Self-discipline is all you need. Just go for a GSX already, turn the boost down to 5 or something for daily driving so you wont get into too much trouble, lol.

Cant find one. Its soo hard to find awd car's like gsx, 98-01 impreza 2.5 rs in my area (sacramento). But theres endless supply of Preludes here haha.

I crashed my civic and went with a much bigger faster car, but the crash really scared the shit into me so I don't drive like an ass anymore....doesn't mean I don't drive quickly now and then, just a little more carefully. I say go gsx, dont drive like a fool...save it for the track or a very open road at night...

to tell you the truth i had the best fun smoking people with the top down. its always fun to smile at someone after you hazard it going down hammerlane. and going to another light and smiling at them because they werent expecting it from a little convertable :iceslolan

-car is here if you wanna take a look at it. its perfectly fine except a sideskirt is missing im putting it back to stock except the act2100 that has about 2,000 miles on it. and i have a t28 if you give me a little more i can put that turbo on instead of the stock turbo.
