Sup guys for some reason the trunk on my 99 spyder doesnt pop up when I pull the trunk lever on the floor near the drivers side . The trunk opens but because it doesnt pop up, once I pull the lever and go to the rear of the car to try and open the trunk, the trunk remains locked. Anyone experience this or know why happens?
Thanks
Thanks

the springs or struts are bad.

My car does the same thing. I pop the hatch, go back to open it, and its popped up but still locked down, so i go back up and pull the lever again, and it opens. I just deal with it, I don't have the money or patience to fix something that minor.

Not to be an ass or anything, but is the lock in the "unlock" position?

That's the first thing I thought spyderturbo. It's definitely unlocked. I dont think its the springs or struts because it opens and closes just fine. There is resistance on the trunk, it isnt like the trunk goes up and down easily.
It becomes annoying when you have the car running and you need to go into the trunk or when you just need something from the trunk, you constantly got to be digging for the keys.
I thought the trunk would have some kind of pop up mechanism which pops up the trunk enough for you to just open it.

On the spyder I keep the trunk locked from the inside for security reasons. SO I got use to taking out my keys adn stuff. Mine pops but doesn't go up like at all. very little... I'd check to make sure the springs are okay.. If it doesn't move at all it's basically unlatching adn then relatching.
you can also have someone pull the latch at see what it is doing.
Besides that fact it's a spyder trunk you can't store anything really useful int here anywayit's so small ^^.

I think I fixed the problem guys. I just turned the little black rubber stoppers found on each end of the trunk about a quarter of an inch clockwise. Now when I pull the lever it pops open.
