I'm looking at an 81 camaro.
It originaly had a v6 but the owner put in a rebuilt 350
it is hard to start and when it does it dies right away
he said he thought it was the timing
a friend of mine said maybe he didnt unhook the computer from the v6
any ideas?
if its the computer how hard is it to unhook it?
what other problems could there be and how much $$$ am I looking at
I think i can get it for under a grand.
thanks

i'm no mechanic
i can usually figure out minor stuff with a repair manual but trying to fix the timing or something like that would be a little over my head
I know some people who could probably help me though.

Has it been sitting a while?
Could just be stale gas.
If it's carburated it could just be gummed up.
And if it flooded with varneshed gas trying to start, it soots the plugs.
There's alot of little things possible.
