check and clean your EGR valve and replace the fuel filter. At the risk of sounding stupid  where exactly is the egr valve located? fuel filter was changed less than one year ago.

I don't own a 97 but I think it is in the front of the engine under the intake.
It will look like this:

Here's the EGR valve:

I've been reading your other post, but was waiting to see the code before replying. You should probably wait until you get the code before doing too much work to it. You can start with cleaning:
EGR valve
IAC valve
MAF sensor
A rough idle can be caused by several things, the injectors are a possibility, although they are a common cause they are also the most expensive and should be considered last. I recommend checking the fuel pressure and doing all the regular maintenance items, you've done most of them, but I'll list them for someone reading this later:
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
PCV valve
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Fuel pressure:
When you turn the key on, the pump runs for 2 seconds. While the pump is running the pressure should be 60-66psi.
When the pump primes and shuts off (engine still off) the pressure should hold steady between 55-60psi.
With the engine running the pressure should drop 3-10psi depending on engine speed due to vacuum on the regulator.
If the injectors are the problem, (actually it isn't the injectors, it's the poppit valves that are attached to the injectors) a lot times you can see improvement by running a bottle of Techron through your tank. Techron is the most effective way, that I know, to clean the poppit valves other than the dealer cleaning procedure, but the dealer method is expensive and not worth it because for a little extra money, you can upgrade to the poppitless MFI.

Egr valve removed cleaned reinstalled same problem I am going to pick up my code reader right now  Ill keep ya posted :grinyes: :grinyes: well once again you guys were on the money there was an underlying problem why truck was running rough . like you said it had nothing to do with the holes in the intake box. when I got home I read the codes one code was po306 and a few others. so I cleared the the codes and p0306 came back that code is #6 cylinder missfire. So I immeadiatly pulled the distributor cap off and all the contacts were a mess. I was very supprised to see this because although the blazer was running fine about six months ago I changed the cap the rotor The plugs and the wires. So I cleaned the cap contacts and the tip of the rotor reinstalled the blazer ran much better but still had a slight skip. Went to Nappa to buy new cap and rotor they diddent have one so I ended up going back to autozone . got a new cap and rotor installed it . Blazer was skipping worse again What the %$%#$
Finally I pulled out plug #6 and it looked fine bosh platnum. replaced that plug problem gone blazer runs great.SO out of all the parts I bought at auto zone in six months Cap was bad rotor was bad and # six plug was firing intermittinly witch must have killed it. I will only use factory parts or performance parts from now on. :naughty: I cant thank you gentlemen enough for your help I would have replaced a lot of emmisions parts that were not needed if it wasant for your help thanks again. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: Has anyone heard of those parts going bad so fast the origional cap and rotor had 130000 and was still good :screwy:

I'm glad to hear that you got it straightened out. Actually, there was a guy recently that found out his new cap and rotor were bad. I replaced mine with AC Delco from rockauto.com, they were about the same price as the cheap ones locally.

Hey thanks again guy's You folks have saved me a ton of money by being more accurate than mechanics in this area. Keep up the good work. :smokin: I wanted to get AC Delco from my local Nappa he diddent have them so thats why I went to Blow zone from now on I will only use origional genuine parts. May cost a little more but ya get what ya pay for. Thanks to blazer LT also for the egr recomendation at least that nice and clean too. If you guys ever have any welding questions or questins on hydralics ,pumps ect let me know thats my gig :grinyes:

Oh gawd,,,,,
Bosch Platinums are the WORST plug in a 4.3L.
Get rid of them and go with AC Delco Platinum.
