Think I can get out of this ticket?

Got a ticket for "disreguarding a redlight". I was turning right onto the main highway and had a deticated turning lane, I'm the blue line in the picture. There is no white line and no yield sign. The lane is seperated from the rest of the lines by a solid white line, and on the other side of the red light on the main highway the outside lane is strictly for turning onto the smaller highway (what I was turning off of).

I'm going to talk to the judge, I think I am in the right here.

Take some pictures of the area (especially showing no signs), and bring them to court. If there isn't any sign indicating that you did something illegal, it should get thrown out. It's illegal to cross a solid white line, so the people in the other lane couldn't legally change into the one you were in. So it doesn't seem like it was illegal to me.

Maybe the cop is a dumbass. There is a road like that where I live and I always take the turn at like 30mph... Too bad you have to waste your time going to court or whatever... should get thrown out. Just take a photo of the area like CivicSpoon said.

Fortunately for you, it's that easy.... I've got one for 79 in a 40.... My luck there is not that easy. :D

Get a good lawyer. I had a 79 in a 65, and my lawyer got it dropped to a non-moving violation. Cost me $125, and that went right to my lawyer.

She looked it up and he hasnt turned the ticket in yet. But she went ahead and put in my not guilty plea and I get to go to court in 5 months or so. He said he would look at it before he turned the ticket in, so maby he accually did- might possably be the first time in history a trooper accually did check himself to make sure he was right.

Sounds like bs to me. I got tailgated when I was younger by a trooper at night so I sped down a hill to get away... fucker pulled me over and cited me, but never turned in the ticket. Judge still gave me 1/2 the points of what it would have been... maybe it was cuz I still had my northern accent back then...

Haha, I got a 75 in a 40 (they never used a radar so I dunno)...didnt get a moving violation, just failure to show proof of insurance and the same for registration..It was new years weekend, when the clerk opened a couple days later I dismissed em for 7.50 each..The proof was in my backpack, I had just bought a parking permit back when I was still in school (all of 6 days ago).

today a car we work on was in a wreck. he rear-ended a newer caddy CTS...which only suffered some scratches on the bumper. she was talking about $1200 worth of damage while this guy is staring at his cracked fiberglass bumper, busted head light, busted radiator, and totaled hood....
to make it all better the cop then proceeds to give him a $275 ticket for following too close.
you gotta love cops!

i'm sorry but if it were the other way around and the 50yr old lady in a new caddy hit the 16yr old kid in a 91 crx the cop would not have issued her a ticket.

Well if it were the other way around, there probably would have been an ambulance involved..

I didnt get out of the ticket, judge said "I dont work for the highway department, I dont know what those road markings mean, so you have to pay the ticket".
