So this is my 5th build overall, and my first build to actually try hard (and not just brush-paint everything). I decided to try to make this one look really good and be really detailed and such (for my standards anyway, which are pretty low). Here are some WIP pics. There's nothing exciting about this model. It's all stock, and I don't know how to do anything else. The painting isn't that well either, but I thought I'd try anyway. Comments and questions are appreciated!

First off, the main body...

I tried to detail the rubber and the front air vents/wipers fairly well. It came out alright...

The body with the rims...

What happens when paint thinner leaks and you don't know it for 16 hours. The base is now in the waiting-to-try/hardening phase...

And finally a rough guestimate with it put together without the interior fully painted yet...

I know it's not perfect, but it's looking better than my past ones that I've done. Input is appreciated!

I used Dupli-color's "Toreado Red", the same color as my car that I drive. I had leftover paint in a can from when I painted the interior of my actual car, and thought "Hey, since this stuff is 5$ a can, I might as well make my model the same color", so....I did! Haha, I just painted it straight out of the spraycan. I don't have an airbrush or anything.

It's still got a long ways to go though ... :(

Nah, I didn't drop the base into thinner. I actually had two cups, one that was paper that had water in it, and another that was plastic that had mineral spirits in it.

Well, consequently, both liquids leaked out of both cups that night, mixed together, providing a huge liquid base that spread across the whole card table. That piece happened to get caught in the middle of it, thus making it all wrinkly and weird.

Thanks for the comments though!

i use rattle cans. i like them. except for when you have to shake and warm the can for like 10 minutes. and no mess to clean up.

anyways... i like the paint, looks good.

Yep, definetely a '99 not a '93. I like the color choice you can't ever go wrong w/ candy red.

Looks awsome with that color, keep it up. Dude your wrong it's a 99, Look at the headlight's I've built this kit many times and I remeber it really good. If the headlight are taller then it's a 99 if they are shorter then it is indeed a 93. You should post pics of the headlight's so we can know for sure.

Ya know, I went searching through the box and the papers and everything that came with it, and not ONCE did I see the numbers '93. I have no idea where I saw that at and came across those numbers.

So I guess as of right now, I have NO idea what year civic this is! Haha, sorry to make this so confusing you guys!

Well, the damn thing is almost done. I don't have any more in-progress pictures, because the thing was more agonizing than it was worth.

I screwed up on parts because I got superglue where it wasn't supposed to be, thus leaving a white stain on those parts, the front bumper wouldn't stay on for anything, the meshing wouldn't stay on the bumper for anything, the windows wouldn't pop into place like they were supposed to, etc. It was just one big mess.

I tried so hard to make this the best project that I had done so far, but I couldn't get anything to work, AT ALL. Dangit, it was a mess!

Another thing that I HATE about this project, that I had with my other Acura Integra Type-R as well was the damn brake pads being glued to the axle. I HATE how they made them. You had to glue the inside of the brake pads and then that would stick to the outside of the circle on the axle. It didn't make any sense, it didn't fit right, glue would get between this little pin and the wheel thus not allowing it to roll, etc. It was a big mess, I hate it, and I kept messing it up. GRRRRRRRRr, I am so impatient to get this project all done.

I just have to get the front two tires on it, paint the hood, the side view mirrors, and the side skirts, and I'll be done.
