64 nova 4dr needed to change to disk brakes

i have a 64 nova 4dr and i was wondering what do i need to change it from drum brakes to disk brakes and whats the biggest engine i can drop in it with out going broke.

Contact Rudy Martinez at Modern Performance Classics in Orange, California. He has two ways to go, a do-it-yourself article about which parts to buy at the junkyard and modify to piece together a disc system, or he'll refer you to people who sell complete conversion kits.

I bought a complete kit for my son for his '63 Chevy II 100. It uses Chevelle components and cost about $700. Works great!

Small block Chevy will be easiest. You'll need a special oil pan to clear the steering and specific Chevy II/Nova V8 exhaust manifolds, unless you're going to use headers which are readily available for this swap. I would recommend frame connectors if you're planning on more than 200-250 hp to keep the body from twisting!

the new super chevy september is all about brakes I would go pick one up and read about brakes and what you want and need.

You can pick these up at most junk yards fron $75-$125. You will need the spindles, rotors and calipers. Also grab the mater and porporsioning valve and steel lines. I would suggest buying new rubber brake hoses.
As for the v8 conv. you can use a 283, 327, or 350 without to much hassle.
You will need the v8 frame mounts, the Nova v8 oil pan, and the v8 throttle linkage. All parts are available on ebay or Nova sites. As for the exhaust the ram horn style from some early GM truck motors or the original Nova v8 exhaust work great. Good luck. :2cents:
