keyless entry remote programming

I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu and I bought a replacement remote for my car. Is there anybody out there that knows how to program it? I have already read a few suggestions made in this forum, but I haven't got it to work yet. Can somebody please help?

My 99 was done by jumping the terminals in the trunk behind the liner on the passenger side.
