If it is a small hole, you can try a sheet metal screw with some sealer on the threads.

update, talked to my friend thats a mechanic... he said he sees this a lot with fords and said i should replace the whole thing... he said u can go the screw w/ sealant or even buy patch kits but they dont work for more than 1000 miles... so i went to a local garage and a guy had aftermarket ones in stock sellin them for $30 a pop.. got one n now im on the road again

Can you tell me name of garage you called?? Can't find anyone w/ aftermarket parts for my 2000 Taurus FFV. Love the car, but mechanically it is a nightmare!

I had the same thing on my 98 Taurus and unsuccessfully tried a two part plumbers putty, good to 250 degrees. I ended up buying a brand new coolant tank, for 32 dollars, at a Ford dealer. About 20 min. work, and it was done.

same thing with me. '99 SE. i was pissed. but its best to just replace the thing in the end. patching does basically nothing.

Mine is a 1997, had the "pin-hole" leak replaced it with a new one.
Just replace it I say and You wont have to worry about it again.
Easy & quick to swap out too.
