I just installed a 4-2-1 header with full exhaust on my civic. Now my check engine light is on. I scanned it and it read that my o2 sensor was bad. Should I get a stock d16y7 up flow o2 sensor or should I get an upgrade? How about a universal sensor? Please help out with this problem.

buy oem, or get a wideband.

If you get a wideband (waste unlkess you're going to be built and tuning a lot) you need to run a weird size capacitor (I forget what size I had to find) inline so your ECU thinks if narrowband still.

the PLX wideband come with a narrowband wire to run to your ECU so you dont need a capacitor

That's the one I had, you still have to run the capacitor (unless they changed it in the last few months). The narrowband signal isn't just an extra wire, it has to read a certain voltage.

right, i believe (or at least its how i read the description) there was a narrow band wire that came out of the box to go to the ECU, if it had the capacitor in the box, i dont know.

The wire does come from the reader, but you have to add the cap inline yourself. I'll call em and ask, because it would be nice if you didn't have to run around to find the weirdo size cap it needs.
