'95 Mark VIII remote Entry

I bought a '95 Mark VIII. I have figured out the code for the keyless entry (found it on the trunk support arm) and want to add a remote entry feature. I purchased an after-mark remote specific for the car and followed the instructions but nothing is happening. Is there a way of telling if the car is equipped with a remote sensor device? Appreciate the help.

just so I understand, you bought a key-fob that is specific for the 95 Mark VIII, and programmed it properly? Did you use the little wire end behind the glove box?

if so, perhaps the remote's battery is dead. It uses 2 or 3 I think...they are like watch batteries.

also, be sure you definately have the right remote. The 93-96 use the older "long" remotes(cant recall fcc#) the 97-98 Mark VIII's use the newer/smaller little "square" remotes. If your new remote/fob is a little square, then it it is the wrong one. also, many of the newer little "square" ones have a on/off switch titled "memory recall". If your fob has that, it too is the wrong one.

other than that, it should work, if you follow
THESE (http://www.markviii.org/LOD2/remote93_96.htm) directions.

let us know, ok?

It sounds like you bought an aftermarket remote and are trying to program that to the factory receiver - Why not get a FACTORY remote for the car, so you know it works?
