I have an 01 Civic EX...bought brand new back in August 01.
79K and I'm on my 3rd pair of struts, and nowthe transmission just went on me! WTF?
I was told Honda's are so reliable which is the main reason I bought one. What happend to mine? Did I get a bad one?

Hondas usually are more reliable than most cars. There is always the exception to the rule. Unfortunately yours is the exception

If you are on your 3rd set of struts and your tranny is going at 79k miles you probably need to rethink the way you drive your car.

An average of 1 in 10 japanese cars is a lemon, and has problems from the get go. You're just unlucky. any kind of warentee?

Yah buddy my 01 civic`s struts went to and i baught it at 76k. I went to the honda dealer and they told me that the 01`s had problems with their struts. im pissed too because it rides like a tank, and the reason i baught a new car was so i didnt have to sink more money into fixing it. im startin to think hondas suck too.

^^ There are no recalls on the 01 for this type of problem.

Wow... 126,000 miles on my '94 Civic, and I haven't heard a peep out of it. It sounds like you got a Lemon, fix it, and get it off your hands.

Tranny and struts... I agree... what kind of driving do you do? 224,000 on my CRX with no problems. My buddy who drives his civic like he stole it, replaces parts left and right.

Just get a Toyota, if you don't like the Hondas, you're bound to like the Toyotas just as much. The Toyotas and the Hondas are just so similar now, but I prefer the Toyotas for 2 reasons, Toyota makes better hybrids, and their seats aren't as hard as stone.

its a shame that toyota kills off all the cars that are any fun (except the celica)

I drive a 01 civic LX and the struts are some hard to turn and make a little noise, as they don't want to turn. My cousin have a 02 EX and the same...
