My 95 monte carlo starts hard. I replaced the fuel injectors, and this did not fix the problem. I replaced the Throttle position sensor, still no fix. I tried adjusting the idle screw, still no fix. So I decided I would bring it to the dealer and have them tell me what's wrong. First they told me it was a vaccum leak around one of the fuel injectors. So I brought it home fixed the leak brought it back. The chevy dealer was left clueless. the called technical assistance, to see if the engineers could help them,. The engineers told them it was the Idle Air Control Valve/Motor, so I had that replaced. They then said, no it's the PCM, so I had that replaced. so now my car has new fuel injectors, a new PCM, new IAC, and over week and a half at the dealer and still no change. The car still starts hard. The dealer then talked to the engineers again and they tried to tell me that one of the fuel injectors was dripping fuel and flooding the engine. But I asked them if they checked the fuel pressure, and he said that the car held. In my past experience with hydralic pressure I know there is no way that it could be dripping fuel and still holding pressure. Doesn't make sense. So now the dealer is baffled, and I'm baffled. Does any one else have any ideas?

what size motor..if its starting hard i would check into the fuel pressure regulator,,, i know 3.8's are notorius for faulty regulators...u can tell when u shut the car off..take off the vac line that goes to it and u see it drip fuel

It's a 3.1 and the fuel pressure regulator is working fine. That is one of the first things we checked.

Have you thought of looking further then just the fuel injection system?? :disappoin
If you have alot of miles on the engine I would suggest a compression test. All the technology and people forget about the actual insides of the engine.
GOOD LUCK and Keep us posted. :smokin:

Are you sure you are getting a solid spark to both banks? How many miles? Last time you replaced the plugs? Wires? Fuel filter? Coil packs? Air filter?
There is alot that can cause this!
