The M3 (Really)

The other thread got locked before I made it in there with these. I predict... a thread merger!
Dragon kit. Quickie build. Cobra Colors Milenium Jade. SAS brakes (half the kit). Scratched modern style M3 spoiler. Aluminum tubing exhaust tip. I sanded off the DOT lines from the front headlight lenses because they were way to thick and polished them clear with Scratch-X.
The interior is purposely drab, just primer gray and some minimal detail painting because I'm going to add a driver figure later, and I don't want anything to detract from the model within a model (a meta-model).
Here she is:

now, I know my BMW's, and that looks like 1:28 scale sex. (or whatever :p)
I would have gone with a different exterior color though. But that's just me and my crazy self :icon16:

Thanks for the kind words, all. The side moldings are in fact a seperate peice (which I think is incredibly clever)(and on the subject of clever things, the front struts have a little hat that can glue to the top or bottom of the strut for a "high and goofy" stance or a "low and raked and still kinda goofy" stance. It would hvae been even more clever if they did that in the front and back). The front and rear though were a scary moment of masking for me, but I seem to have gotten the hang of it. The secret? careful masking, followed by a shot of clear before the color! BRILLIANT!! That's a tip I picked up around here somewhere. I just shot Tamiya acrylic clear through my airbrush, shot some thinner through (not onto the car) then the black. Easy peasy. I will start doing my window trim like this too, and I will look like a pro!
Anyway, this was a fun kit, if you can find one snap it up. They make for neat quickie builds and have decent detail-up-ability. Now I'll get to work on the driver and a bitty intercooler.
Thanks all!

Have to agree, very clean, clever, classy...
Just what I d think to pop out of your workbench. Many people could be fooled in thinking it's a real model, it's just right, and hey, on a second thought, the rims just go well with this car, they add to the distinguished look.

My kind of car! Nice build! (And stock too, beautiful! :sunglasse ) Not sure about the color, but the finish looks great. The wheels say BMW Motorsport on them, and came with the kit? I have (probably) the same kit, but my wheels don't say BMW Motorsport (they're identical double 10 spoke, without the engraving, as they appeared on M3's after '95). My M3 has the engraved wheels- now that I know Dragon made them like that also, I may have to find some....

I think you're completely wrong. There's no need to have a huge intercooler and the pressure drop across it, especially since this M3 is equipped with a smallish turbo to modestly increase the power across more of the powerband, making power delivery more usable for daily driving. Instead of cramming the BIGGEST TURBO IN THE WORLD AND THE BIGGEST INTERCOOLER IN THE WORLD SO I CAN HAVE THE MOST POWERFUL M3 IN THE WORLD I've instead opted to put in smaller, more sensible equipment. Not everyone wants a dyno queen.
Screw you and your "Intercooler is too small" crap. I don't know why you've gotten under my skin, but damn. If you don't like it....
