I finally got all of my money from the insurance company. My agent tried to settle w/ me for $7000, but I faxed him a list of all of my mods and he said that under my insurance policy, I was covered for up to $1000 in aftermarket parts. Anyway, I ended up getting $8000 and after paying off $2600 for my totaled car, that left me with $5400. Yesterday I got a $3000 loan from my bank and Friday night I'll be going to pick up my new (used) 92 Civic h/b w/ a 98 GSR engine. Time to kick some Ass-0. Man, this is going to be a fun weekend!!!

how do you know if your insurance company backs up aftermarket parts. did you have to pay for or is it mandatory.

When are you going to post some pics of the new ride? What mods have been done to the car other than the swap? Are you going to take it to the track to see what it can do? You should be the low 14's high 13's easy. What model HB was it? Sorry so many questions.

Yo iLLuCiv99,
I was lookin at the pics of ur car and saw u listed a type-r front grill. I have a 99 hatch and i've only seen listings for the type-r grill for 96-98 only. Does that fit on a 99 as well or is it different from the 96-98 grill? Where and how much did you get your grill for? And I was also interested in the reverse indiglo gauges: Do you have a hard time seeing the gauge needles at night? Got any pics of the gauges? Sorry for so many questions....

It was part of my policy for Progressive Insurance. I didn't know about it until I got in the wreck, but obviously it is included under the "full coverage" policy.

I should have some pics of it up after this weekend. It is a 92 Civic h/b cx. It has i/h/e. DC Sports header, Tanabe exhaust, and I don't know what kind of intake. It has a type-r cam for the exhaust and it has Weapon R coilovers. I still have my VAFC from my "old civic" and since it is a OBD2 generation 98 GSR motor I'm gonna be able to hook that up too. The guy said he has Nitrous Express hooked up and is running a 50 shot. He said that he was running 13.9 and his best time spraying he ran 12.8. I don't know if it's true, but I'll have to drive it myself tonight and find out. I should be getting it around 7pm! I can't wait.

Well, after waiting for what seemed an eternity today, here is how it went: At 4pm today I found out that I was turned down from my bank for the $3000 loan. Keep in mind that this guy is leaving his house in Jacksonville around 5p and is on is way up here to Savannah and it is only about a 2 hour drive. He tells me that he'll sell the car for $6500 since he is bringing it to me. I agree even though I only have $5400. I borrow $400 from my brother at his bank so now I have $5800. Then, I run home, grab my 27" tv($250), PS2($250), and Sharp digital camcorder ($1300) and head up to the pawn shop to see what I can get. Two pawn shops offer me $300 for everything and I'm fucking pissed off! I call the guy and tell him my unfortunate news. I tell him that I'll give him the $5800 and the camcorder and says "no". He wants $5800, the camcorder, and the tv. I try and negotiate and tell him I'll give him $5600, the camcorder and the tv and he is about to call the whole thing off. I ended up giving him what he wanted which wasn't bad for me b/c I got the tv pretty cheap and the digital camcorder I got for free as a bonus at work.
The car is fucking fast as shit. It gets up to 100mph in no time at all. It rides smooth as hell and being behind the wheel of that much power is an awesome feeling. I never felt that way about my "old civic", RIP. My friend who has the 93 h/b w/ a 95 GSR engine looked over the car before I bought it, checked everything out and made sure it was in good working order. He said that it ran very good. Tomorrow I'm going to take the nitrous bottle out b/c I'm not even thinking about spraying yet. Also I noticed that I'm going to have to buy a fuel rail and a fuel pressure regulator will probably be my first mods. Tomorrow I'm going to try and take the ugly pin stripes off. I'll try and take some engine bay pics too.

congrats, but not to stomp on your parade, but a car with all them mods, especially nitrous, as more than likely been beat on by its previous owner.
