I am competing in the IDRC event at Maple Grove this weekend and then Hyde will be taken off the street for a few weeks in order to compete his TMIC set up.
I recently picked up an RMR Racing intake manifold from an MR2OC member that is all ready prepared for a Q45 90 MM throttle body. I do not have the throttle body yet, but it should be in the mail as we speak :)

With the addition of the RMR & the TB, all that was left is hose connections and clamps. I will be ordering my constant-tension worm drive clamps from McMasters in the next few days:

I'm actually hoping the lag will be the same or better :)
There is more of the system to pressurize, but:
*the piping is significantly straighter
*the TB is very fast to respond from what I understand
*I launch off a 2-step so I don't have any lag there ;)

Here's a sneak preview "in progress" shot.
The Subaru scoop is mounted and looks great, but I do not have a pic of that.
My body guy used the same silicone material they use to hold the NASCAR windshields in place so he feels secure it will hold on at speed :D
Unfortunately, because of the siez of everything, we are forced to lay the IC down flat.
I wanted it standing up, but that just can't happen :(

MR2turbo93, I don't make a lot of money. I have a decent job doing photography & design for a newspaper.
I am frugal and thrifty on how I spend. All of the parts for this project cost less than $900. I sold all my previous intercooler and intake manifold set up for $1500. That's how I could afford this project.
A lot of what I have done this year would not have been possible without my sponsors. They have helped me out a lot :)

We made a lot of progress last night. I went up to my mechanics place and brought a long a thin sheet of aluminum. I traced the thin shroud that surrounds the GReddy intercooler on the aluminum and cut it out and drilled the appropriaate holes for mounting.
While I was doing that, Jeff (my mech) cut out a section of the black rubber lining of the passenger side OEM intake scoop. This will allow air coming into the scoop to flow into the trunk instead of the engine bay.
You can see what he cut out here (notice that it naturally flows into the trunk through the quarter panel :) :

After he was done I installed the piece I made to block the air from getting into the engine bay and forcing it back into the trunk:

You can see from the outside the direction the air will now go:

We also had out first chance to mount up all of the piping with the new throttlebody and intake manifold:

You might notice that the IC pipe going into the TB comes through the firewall right where the fuse box and coolant neck are.
They had to be shortened to accomodate this change:

Scoop fabricated under the car to get fresh air into the IC. It's tapered toward the driver side to accomodate the exhaust and avoid that hot air.

with the bigger intere cooler are you going to you a CO2 spray on the inter cooler ... i see the cryo2 tank whats that for?

I am not using CO2 at all.
If you are refering to the tank in the front trunk, that is not CO2. That is a CraneCams vacuum reserve tank. It storesvacuum for the vac assisted brakes. With my longer duration cams, I do not always make great vac, but when I do it ... I store it in that tank :)
