brake sensor

My truck is stuck in park, and the brake lights wont work. When you push the sensor against the brake rod to activate it the lights work and the shifter works properly. Is there something missing in between the senso and the firewall. any help appreciated.

fixed it. The clip that holds the sensor on was broke and not applying enough pressure to hold the sensor in place.
