I am going to buy a new catalytic converter by the end of the day, and I was wondering which one (Pacesetter or RK Sport) I should go with. Anyone have either of these? Do you like it?

I am also geting a new muffler but the header will have to wait for a month because I need to save money for college.

I guess what i'm looking for is louder and more performance.

Can I take off that resonator too? Or do I need it? I don't want it on.

For cat I would try and find a high flow magnaflow cat. If I must choose though go with RK. Pacesetter exhaust systems suck a fat one. As for the res, no, you dont need it. If you are looking for louder that is the last thing you want on your exhaust.

Specific Magnaflow or any...

See if that brings you to the page i'm seeing.

I'm like a little kid. Is that one going to be fairly loud?

Should make for a damn good growl if setup right. And before you ask "setup right" is many different factors like header, pipeing size on the exhaust, exhaust tip size, res or no res high flow muffler. Ya know stuff like that. Also know I dont know what setup would make the most noise. Unlees you just run with no exhaust period.

I plan on going with 2¼ or 2½ piping to a new muffler from the cat back. I will be getting a new header after i pay off first semester of college. Pacesetter armor coated I have decided on that one.

Would you recommend 2¼ or 2½ piping from cat back with that cat that you showed me?

2 1/2

What will that do with back pressure or anything negative for having 2½ piping

It depends, hell everything depends on something or another. 2 1/2 unboosted is borderline wtf is the point. It wont cause any problems and should give you the sound you are looking for. Hell if anything go to a muffler shop and see what some of them are running and ask if they will spark it up for you.

There is a kid that works at a midas down here that has an 04 2dr 5spd that is using the cat I linked to you, the rksport cat back exhaust, all 2 1/2 pipeing, pacesetter armor coat header and a 4" exhaust tip with a res and it sounds damn sick.

I already told him this but I am going to duplicate his setup I like it so much.

Im goin to the exhaust shop tomorrow to ask the cost of them putting this all on for me. New cat, 2½ piping and new muffler. I really appreciate your help. I like hearing input and peopel who have had experiance with this kinda stuff, so I don't go out and buy crap! Thanks again

What do you think I should do about a new muffler too or glasspack. I want it to be loud so I was looking for a glasspack and found one on jegs.com.....

Let me know what ya think if it is a good idea to get a glasspack with that new cat that I got on the link that Psycho posted?

Well if a glasspack on a cavi does the same as a new one did on my old 86 nissan pulsar then yeah, it will be loud as hell.

2.5 is way to big, thats the biggest i would use and im boosted, you shouldnt go more than 2.25. You will lose ALOT of low end torque and gain very mininal high end torque over a 2.25

Ya I was thinking about that last night. I actually had a dream about putting new exhaust on my car last night and using 2¼.

But then I got to thinking about using my muffler I have now, which is loud as hell and I was trying to find sumthing louder but not sure f spending that extra money if I really don't need to.
