2005 Sunfire engine question

Hi, I just bought a 2005 Sunfire, and my friend has a 2005 dodge neon, and I like how his engine sounds, especially when he hits the gas and it makes this "air puff" sound, it sounds like something fancy, I am wondering if anyone can tell me what it is that does it, and if you know of any small cost ways to get it.
