95 Ram1500 2 questions

I've got 2 questions for the general public out there. 1st- does anyone know any shortcuts, tricks or pitfalls when replacing front shox on a 2wd 1500? 2nd- my truck still runs real rich when idling in gear with the brakes on at a stop sign, etc. I noticed a sticker under the hood that says the truck is exempt from cold idle emissions standards, but is there something else going on? I've got the 360, and have replaced the egr, o2 sensor, tps, coil, wires cap rotor and plugs.
