Is there a way to monitor the engine using a laptop. Also can you make changes using it to.

Yeah, you need a program called ls1edit. It's expensive though - like $2,000 if i remember right

I know you can buy programs for $100-200 (maybe cheaper on ebay) that will read all of the sensors and let you monitor you performance and engine output. You can also estimate hp and torque, 0-60 times, etc. Also, some of the programs will work with PDAs as well.
But if you want one that will change the parameters you will need to buy the $2000 one.

Ouch, 2000, man I think I am going to have to figure out how to reverse engineer those things. As with most electronics, you could probably build one for 5 worth of radio shack parts.

ls1edit is a software program. It is expensive; it's what performance shops use to give you a tune.
