Hey all, im out for a few days, im gonna go sit as close as possible while someone lights the fuse on 4.5 million pounds of rocket fuel. Flyin down to watch the space shuttle launch in florida. got myself some VIP tickets to sit at the minimum safe launch distance of three miles. Im gonna take a tripod and my camera and see if i can erk out some pics, gonna be iffy though, ive only got a 200mm zoom lens, but i figure its worth a shot. can honestly say ive never tried to take a picture of something from 3 miles away, well see how it turns out. Man i wanna throw a saddle on that thing and ride it on launch :) Anyway, just thought id brag about it and give an explenation as to why i wont be answering any questions for the next few days.

Have fun man, it's a kickass show! Got to go down there with my squadron and do airspace controlling. We were at 10-15 miles and still breathtaking. Kennedy Space Center has a sweet tour too.

Awesome, sounds like fun. Maybe I'll be able to see it here again (Jax, FL). It was pretty cool being able to see the last one while knowing I was hundreds of miles away. When exactly is the launch again? I forgot.

eh... been there done that. Nasa is only about 45 minutes (guesstimate) from my house. I will be watching it from my backyard. Look closely at the contrail you can tell when it switchs fuel sources.

and if the shabby appearance isn't enough to cause my invite to be "lost in the mail." My measly 2.8l is only running off 5 cylinders.. I wouldn't be able to keep up with you guys!

i tell u what man, if u are near tampa, and have a bit of money to spend on your car ( not a buttload) but a little to get some work done, i know some people who can get that ride of yours back on the right track. its not a bad looking car at all, and if u ask me i see alot of good things in that car. no need to loose your invite, a camaro is a camaro bottom line. rock it till the damn wheels fall off!

Those pictures are really flattering for my car. I would get it painted, but the roof is rusted completely through in a couple spots so that needs fixed.
I am working on getting the mechanical issues worked out. now that I have some cash.
Alright Philly let me now when you wanna do this cruise, I'll see if I can make it. (I got a new radiator so I can actually get past 5 miles before it over heats!)

well, mission got scrubed, didnt get to feel the thunder, but i got some pics of the shuttle on the launch pad, ill see about posting em when i get the roll developed. as far as it being passe, i understand entirely, i live in D.C. and rarley go see the monuments or museams and such, im a mile away from George Washingtons plantation and i havent been in over a year. and i only went cuz i had a friend from out of town come visit. but i dunno, im an aerospace engineering major so to even go see the shuttle was pretty hot, even from 3 miles away through a 200mm zoom lens, she was beautiful, just sitting there. im only hoping i have a chance to go back and see one launch before they stop sending them up. well see.
