98 Contour ventilation problem when it rains

Whenever it rains, my 98 Contour no longer brings in outside air, vent, heat, a/c, or defrost. It acts as if something is restricted, very little air will come out of the vents. Max a/c works fine because it is recirculating air, not bringing in outside air. After a day or so, the system returns to normal.
Any suggestions?

I had the same problem, the cabin air filter is probably plugged which was our problem. The Ford manual will give a good discription how to install a new one. If you are not a mechanic, find someone who is, the broken plastic parts can be very expensive...
The filter can be bought at your local auto parts store, I bought mine for around $20...
I recommend not leaving out the air filter, the inside of the car gets dirty quickly...especially if you live in a dusty climate...your owners manual will suggest when to replace
Good Luck :)

Sounds like you may have a leak that is allowing your cabin filter to get wet.
