I have a 1975 454 bb chevy 7.4L. The problem is that I'm geting fuel into the crankcase. I've replaced the fuel pump, replaced the carb with an ebelbrock 750 cfm, new msd 8.5mm plug wires, new fuel lines and new distributor cover. I'm getting around 2 quarts of oil into the engine after around 2 hours of driving. The compression reads 160 psi (compression is good). I removed the intake manifold to look for cracks and found none. The engine was tuned. Any help on this topic will be greatly appreciated THANKS

tough one, only thing i can think of is a rare machining problem. there are two levels of cylender honing something like 400 gritt, and 1200 gritt, and sometimes there are sealing problems with new piston rings, but you say your compression is good, so im as confused as you are. now that i think about it.

I would think the psi s/b a little bit higher. Wonder if the ring gap is correct and staggered?
