my 92 lumina euro has been a nightmare since i got it..... i have done

o2 sensor
crankshaft sensor
fuel filter
new plugs and wires
new ecm
new egr
the ignition module is good had it tested
new alternater
air filter was nasty!!
new idle air valve
transmission pan seal was leaking and i put in a new tansmission filter

i have used a fuel teatment and oil stop leak that did work (hehe)

any way this time there is rattleing in the egine between the engine and firewall and the hole thing sounds like the engine is needing air. i think it is a vacuum leak i replaced the egr today but didnt do a thing that is what the check engine light said thats what was wrong with it. code 32 egr valve or vacuum leak. where is the places that i could start to look for a vacuum leak. or is a vacuum leak the problem. PLZ HELP

i use this car every day. if it helps the car will shake really bad when i get up to 55-60 mph and i run this thing 90-100 all the time so i dont have a clue.

thanks dilon

is there a vacuum diagram under the hood somewhere? Usually they put one there. Um, just start feeling the hoses and tracing them back. Also what is probably a better idea is to get a can of carb cleaner or something that is very flammable, and with the car ideling, spray the vacuum lines and all the connections. While doing this, listen for a change in idle speed or anything. If you hear a change, you know it has sucked in and burnt carb cleaner and that there is a leak there. Story Time, one time I was looking at a buddy's car, a buick with the 3.1 in it, he had accelleration problems, and it was ideling high. he started it and it was idling for me, and believe it or not, I just opened the hood, and heard a hiss, and said, you have a vacuum leak. sure enough, a zip strip later, the car was running good as new. its strange how people dont even think to look for the obvious before replacing parts. No offence. Good luck

i have checked the vacuum lines for leaks.... and didnt find any.....use the carb cleaner and took them off and looked at them...... could this be my map sensor....is there a way to test that.... this started a couple of days ago then it was fine for a day then started back up.... also i noticed the car was idealing a little high 750 usally runs 500 rpm.....

DOES ANYONE WANT TO BUY A 92 LUMINA EURO 3.1

the map sensor is fed by a vacuum line under the upper plenum. I would bet that is where your vacuum leak is.

the map sensor is pluging in and is not leaking but could it be bad??? what does a bad map sensor do??? is there a way to test the map sensor before i go and buy one???

thanks

The map sensor tell the computer how much air is entering the engine by comparing the difference between intake pressure and outside air pressure. Many vital fuel ratio calculations depend on the map sensor. The only "test" for a map sensor, besides a check engine light indicating it's bad, is to tap it with the engine running and warmed up. If tapping it changes the way the car is running, then it's bad.

i tap the map sensor after driveing my girlfriend to work....and i did not notice any change in the way the engine was running. What would be the first thing you would look at if you engine was running rough and you heard a fast clicking noise from behind the engine.(the engine is rattling bad so it might just be that a something is hiting another something) and the clicking noise seems consistent with the way the engine is rattling. I have no clue what is wrong with it and i am too broke to go have it looked at. i am driveing the car to places i HAVE to go is this going to make the problem worse

thanks

if anyone lives in indianapolis Indiana they should feel free to come and help me(hehe)
