Is That a Cup?

I bought a Silverado and I have the same interior as the picture below, but there is something strange-looking, resembling a cup on the left hand side of the console. Is this indeed a cup? I don't know if the column on the left side holding the cup is that short in my truck; it seems to extend the entire length of the console area.

I have the same interior. I thought the little cup with the flip top lid was the ashtray. Mine has a small cigarette symbol on top.

I just use it for spare change. also the boot that holds it in place can be used as an additional cup holder.

Yeah I would agree ashtray. Can't see any other ashtray location. Pretty snazzy interior. I still like having the bench seat in the middle though...

yes it is definitly a ash tray. i am glad that some of the newer cars do not have ashtrays. i hate the smell of smoke in a car. once its there is hard to get rid of and it stinks. i let noone smoke in my vehicles.

I can't believe that it could be anything but an ashtray. The picture of the cigarette on the lid kind of gives it away. I have an '05 crew cab and I don't have the panel of stuff just below the AC vent in the center dash. Mine just has deep storage bin under the vent. What is all that stuff?

It is a removable ashtray.

yup.. that's what it is. I've seen an Avalanche with that as well.
