Gremlins in my 84'

My 84 T-Bird has gremlins. It started revving the engine to 2 grand on very irregurlar frequency. I have to kick the throttle down to get it back to normal rpms. I hope its not the computer! $$$ HELP!

Which engine is in your 84? The 232 V6 or the 302 V8?
