R32 GT-R's start at 5500 bucks US.

then there's a bunch of crap to do..
JCI inspection and insurance 400-1000 or so every two years.
road tax 200 or so every year
insurance about 100 bucks a month for a 22 year old male with good record driving a GT-R.
Gas... on base if you are military is 2.08. off base is.... takai.

Getting a japanese license, i know nothing about that. I have a SOFA status license. They just give it to you if you have a state side license. it's for military and DOD contractors....

So it's not too bad here. cars are dirt cheap but there is some BS that comes with it.

Kei cars are cheap as hell. I have one.
insurance is 320 dollars a YEAR.
JCI is 150 dollars for 2 years

that's for a cheap GT-R. a decent one is about 8500-10000. and you don't just add 20K for shipping and emissions. it's NOWHERE close to that simple.
