Buying a 240sx need ur help!

Whats up fellas,
First off Im buying a 92 Hatchback out of AL and the car had a CA18DET in it and he removed it and put in a new KA motor but he said the only thing it needs is and Ill quote this from the guy maybe it makes more sense to you all "the exhaust cam is off and a cam bolt is lost in the timing case, but i know that it should crank with the exhaust cam bolted down and timed right." So where the hell is the exhaust cam located at and how much is a timing job and what in the world does it consist of or can I do it on my own? I need a solution asap hes shipping out to Iraq and I need to hurry up and get to AL but I want to know if its worth it.

it depends are you buying a car u need to run or a car that you plan to work on. if u want to buy a car that u need to run dont get it cause it could be a lot more trouble then your planning on

Well I need it to run for approx 3 months then my sr goes in. What kinda trouble am i looking at.?

you cant find an exhaust cam and you want to do an SR swap....wtf? not to be rude but i dont even have a drivers license and id be willing to be im better off with the car then you are, that is if it isnt running. If it is running, go ahead and buy it and try to take care of it and learn things as you go along. Good luck with it!
