I was wondering what you guys think about putting in a mesh grill like Dprotech did in one of his threads (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=2664), but putting it in that open space in the bumper. I am using Luke's car as to show you where I want it the mesh to go in. How do you think it would look?

( Ya i know this is Luke's car, its not mine. I hope you dont mind Luke. :) )

Hope that gives you an idea :)
I used the small stuff to keep it the same all round in the side vents and bumper instead of the bigger size

kinda looks like the mesh is somewhat too fine....is there enough air flow through that lower grille? the top looks like it'll be okay... when I think grill, I was thinking a larger mesh like with a 15mm opening diamond shape.... be a bitch to clean off bugs.

I had the bigger mesh in the bottom but to me it didn't look right.
I've had no problem with cooling.
The bugs are not a problem as i dont drive it to much at night on the open road.
If they do get on they wash off pretty easy with a light rub :)

What price for them Luke ? (strut)...i'm intrested but its the bloodly exchange rate that kills it for me to get things to NZ   ...... so half the time i'm better off getting things here.
$1.00NZ = $0.41US.......See what i mean....good for you guys  ...bad for me !!!!

So if i do put in the mesh grill where I want it to, would I have to take off the bumper to install it? I dont know, but that kind of seems a lot of work. But if I dont have to then its cool.
Also, what kinda of mesh do you recommend? Are there different kinds? whats the best size? can I just get them at a hardware store (e.g. home depot)? thanks

Warren, I've told you this before, and I'm telling you this again - I absolutely love your car! It looks so great! Probably the best looking "P" out there! Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see you get your hands on a P11-144 :)

Go to Home Depot and get some gratings that keep the leaves and crap out of your house gutters.

LOL Jason ..I checked out that stuff ..it looks close to what I bought from Foliatec. But its a smaller mesh. Foliatec's looks sharp. I purchased a pack which consisted of an 8 x 50 inch mesh. Cut that in half and you'll have enough to cover the top and the bottom.
I paid $50 Cdn for mine ..and can get more if you like. I can ship it out to you guys if you can't find it.

PRIMERA MAN where did you get that mesh from. Is it the Repco stuff? How many sheets did you buy. By the way, it looks awesome! I need some for my front grille that I have modified. Im also thinking of putting it behind the number plate. Not sure how good it would look behind the number plate on a P10.
QUESTION: Does anyone have any pics of a P10 where there is mesh behind the number plate on a standard kit?

I went to MicroMetals in P.Nth and got 1 sheet at $33.67.
One sheet was just enough !!!
I guess they have a M/Metals where you are ???
It's the same as the stuff from Repco but heaps cheaper :D and got nearly twice the amount.
Plumbers use it around drains etc.

I just made sure there was enough mesh behind the grill opening and molded it around the body and then used a high strength sealant to glue it into place

My grill keeps falling off, what kind of sealant or glue did you guys use to hold it in place?

I used a "high strength industrial all purpose sealant" which is made by "Sallys" here in NZ.
