1991 S10 Blazer electrical problem??

I have a 1991 S10- Blazer that the engine just abruptly shut off, completely lost all power. I still have interior lights, headlights, horn and accessories. I hae traced the problem so far that there is no power geeting from the started to the ignightion switch. I replaced ignition switch, but did not help. I can turn the starter by jumping it with a screwdriver so I know power is getting to the starter from battery. I do not know if there's a broken wire somewhere?? Is there a fuseable link blown somewhere with the main wiring harness?? [I can't locate any fuseable links that I know of] Is there a fuse or relay somewhere?? Is it the computer?? I am at my wits end. Does anyone have any suggestions?

sounds like the starter soliniod. the fuse panel is in cab under steering wheel. ckeck them first. if you can turn it with a screwdriver jump but not with a turn of the key than the internal parts of the solinoid are fried.

Yea, check all your fuses first.

Thanks guys for the response. I have checked all fuses and that is not the problem. If the solenoid is faulty, will the power going through it not make it through the wiring? The old solenoids when faulty would not turn the starter, but power would still pass through them.....?????

do you have all lights and access. ? but the srarter wont turn the engine? was that the problem? or will it crank and just not start?

I have power to interior lights, headlights, horn and accessories, but there is no power coming from starter to ignition switch or anything on that circuit. You can jump the starter with a screwdriver, so there is power from battery to starter.

so it is the solinoid. if power to but not from???? internal parts to solinoid are worn (not making contact
to start). replace it.

x2... replace the solenoid. if the solinoid is getting power but there is no power in the circuit after that. Then you need a new solinoid :)

The ground is fine. I get power to all circuits except the ignition circuit. I have changed ignition switch and starter solenoid when you guys suggested....NO LUCK! I can jump the starter and it will spin fine, but still no power from starter to ignition circuit. Is there a fuse link anywhere or any type of fuse/relay that could be blown?? I cannot locate any if there are. My Haynes book says nothing about any either.

You might check for power at the starter relay when key is in the START position. If no power, replace the neutral safety switch on the transmission. If this goes bad, you will get no power to your ignition circuit.
