I don't know if this will help, but its my way of making my own bodykit!
First, start by making the main outline of the bodykit, then use the dropper-like tool to pick a color close to the begining of your bodykit( you may use different spots fron your car to achieve better looks).
Use appropriate brush to make the very basic reflections, then you will have to do a very painfull job of putting small sharp reflections on the bodykit( this won't be the case for your car, cuz it doesn't have much reflections)
Observe how the edges of your car is, and do the same to the edge of your bodykit, taking into consideration of how much color it needs!
lastly, don't worry your bodykit won't look like what you wanted......it takes a lot of time to get it imo!
Start doing bodykits of cars which are closer, and in easy perspective.......
Finally(most important imo), keep experimenting. For sure what I told you didn't help a lot, you will be learning by yourself! good luck!
I was a bit busy, thats why I couldn't help earlier!

^ good tips
also a way to practice is to find a iamge that already has a kit on it. trace over it and re paitn it by hand and try to make it look as good as teh original underneath
itll let u practice with out also having to figure out how and where to put reflections/highlights
keep practicing it takes FOREVER to get good at kits
