Hi,

My power window on the driver side has broken. I heard a loud snap/crash as I was raising the window today then the window retreated back into the door.

It sounds like the motor still works when I push the switch, but the window doesn't rise. I think I can fix it myself, but I'm, not sure how to remove the door panel without breaking it. I'm not sure which (if any) screws hold the panel inplace, or does it snap into place without screws?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

James

I had a similar problem with my door, ive got a 97 grand cherokee so i dont know if the doors are the same. i was trying to replace my rear door speaker and i couldn't figure out how to get the door off, i think it was two screws i took out which were covered. i took them out and it took me a while to figure out that u have to pop the door off, i used a wedge and pulled it off which took more force then i thought. i dont kno if that helps u but i did look at the front door and it looked more difficut because of all the window controls.

Thanks. You actually helped me remember a site that mentioned how to remove the door panel for speaker replacement. I'll have to try this tomorrow.
