Broken L7???

Ok. So about 2 weeks ago I bought my L7 that was already broken in from my buddy. I've heard it play many of times and even helped him un-install it. So I know it worked before. When I bought it I put it on top of a box off the ground in my garage so no water or critter could get to it. Then my cousin came over and was looking at it and I pushed the cone in, only a little bit and it kinda made a clicking noise and got hung up. I figured something might have just went up into the hole in the magnet so I tried shaking it but nothing came out. I pushed it in again and then out and it still did it. So now I'm thinking it could be blown. I hooked my volt meter up to it and there is still continuity in both voice coils and I hooked it up to my 760 peak sony amp. When I hooked it up it made like a springy, rattley noise almost. Like you could still here the bass and the speaker was still moving, but it was making all those other noises too. I was wondering if you guys had ever heard of that before or if you think I could get it under warranty. My buddy said it was still under manufacturer warranty and showed me where the 2 numbers I needed were. But I don't know if they'll just tell me to get lost. Thanks for your help guys.

sounds like what my lil 8" does now, after i ran 1000W of boosted bass through it ffor 10 minutes. id would RMA it and see whats up, unless you can take it apart and figure it out yourself. it soujnds like you might have messed up the vc or motor, iunno though i can't really say ive had much experience pushing subwoofer cones in.
