Dash Light Sensor & Air Filter

Hello...I'm new to the forum, but not to Silverado. My current is a 2002 X-cab LT, 5.3 L, Flowmaster, K&N Air....(and yup, I love that truck..Finestkind!!!). So here are my 2 questions:
1. Does anyone know how to adjust the sensor on the dash to not turn the lights on so readily? It seems to come on when there's plenty of light...over cast day...lights on!!
2. How much of a differance is there between using a regular K&N Air Filter VS. a cold air intake (IE K&N FPIK or 77 Series)? I felt quite a boost when I put the filter in ansd since I did it when new, never really was able to test the mileage (Not a big concern. When I bought it, I bought it for fun and performance, not economy. That's what the Hybrids are for).
I will be around for awhile and so will my truck. (52 and not over the 1st childhood yet)....Rb

for the lights if they come on you can push the domelight override button 4 times within a few seconds it will chime and they will not come on, but this will reset when you turn off the ignition.
as for the filter. i really dont see how just a filter itself can do that much different. but a cold air kit is a completely different air box and most of them have are sucking cool air from outside the engine compartment in and much more than a stock box can. i hope this helps.

I have the dome light control and it works fine. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to adjust the sensitivity so it wouldn't come on until it's a bit darker!!! Thanks for the imput though.

I dont know. I dont have any problems with it but I had an idea for people that did. I dont know if there is a way to take that sensor out but someone makes a spary paint that you can use to black out like tail lights, headlights, etc... its like a transparent black paint. Obviously the more coats you spray, the darker it will be. You could possibly spray that on the sensor dome. Just an idea I had.

but if you painted it, wouldn't that make it darker so it would be on all the time and make it come on sooner??
