code 12 always flashes. I think it flashes 3 times and then reports the computer codes. How old is the egr valve? Do you have a small vacuum pump that you could check the valve with? if you look at your manual it should say how to check it. I replaced mine last year. My old one seemed to work when i checked it but i guess the valve wasnt closing all the way. Anyways my code 32 went away after i replaced it.

btw how is your car running otherwise? any complications with starting it? Thats awsome that you got it all together for such a decent price.

think i spent 1000 total after all the new parts and a bunch of small stuff, actually it was prob 1100. but yeah its running good but i have to break it in before i actually open it up. its making a weird noise when i brake and turn though. like a weird grinding noise. but a very low tone. like an air compressor pumpng under pressure but not as loud. oh and i think the egr thing is i had weird gasket with a metal peice in it that had a hole in the middle and it fit the egr so i put that in and the ond gasket didnt have that so i think thats why it threw that code at me. but the light isnt on again. im gona reset the system and see if it comes back on. but the speed reference pulse isnt anything??

Code 12 is normal and you should get it, if you don't, there is a problem.
Code 32 is nothing to worry about right away. To get code 32 you have to be driving steady state 50 mph or more and less than 75% TPS, the ECM will then command the EGR valve to open and confirms that it has opened by either the feedback diagnostic switch (85-89) or by a slight drop in MAP sensor reading (90-92). If it doesn't see the feedback or MAP drop it will set a code 32.

the code 12 is there to tell you that the ignition is on but there isnt any signal from the tachometer, that is because you are checking the codes with the engine off, and its not running so there isnt any rpm signal to the computer. its very normal. eat two doughnuts and call me in the morning.

actually i did eat 2 doughnuts, with white frosting and sprinkles on them....they were good. any one have an idea about the noise...it does it when i give it a little gas in reverse too. and i can feel it ont he floor. tourque converter????? something heres how i described it in the previous post- its making a weird noise when i brake and turn though. like a weird grinding noise. but a very low tone. like an air compressor pumpng under pressure but not as loud., thanks -- tom

Ifthe car sat a long time while the engine work was going on (like months) the rotors probably rusted and the noise you hear is the pads scraping on the rust.

sat for about 3 or 4 weeks. but when your 1 block from the ocean things rust way fast, ill take a look at em, i hope its something that easy. will the rust just rub off after a while? or is there something easy i can do? dot really wanna have to do anything major considering i jst got done swapping the engine

spray your rotors with WD40 to loosen up the rust and make the squeek go away......
I KID I KID, but yeah the rust will rub off after a few miles, other than that, sounds like youve got a few left over parts that you shouldnt have ;)

just looked, no rust on rotors at all. and whenever theres any force towards the front of the car it does it, for example:braking and reverse. no left over parts.......hmmmm

can you make it do it by pushing down on the front end by hand, like could you put it up on ramps and "bounce" the front end to find it?

yea, i was gonna say the same thing, maybe you have a hose or something thats going the wrong way and when you go in reverse or stop and the front goes down that lil bit it might be trying to tell you its in the wrong spot... maybe a small crack and when you stop or go in reverse it twists the hose and then you can hear it? i donno :S

sounds like it's suspension related. the front end of the car reacts the same way when you hit the brakes and when you reverse, the front end of the car gets pushed toward the ground and the rear goes up slightly.
sounds like you need to get under your car to and check for clearance around the moving parts (rotors, wheels, driveshaft, etc). make sure nothing is too close and/or touching.
is your transmission mount (bolt) tightened?

so im assuming you got the dipstick tube fine? and it fit?

yeah thanks alot for the dipstick. works great. and the noise isnt my suspension, i already checked all that. well my front right springisnt sittingbit the upper hole right, and i gotta fix that cause it makes my car sit a little lopsided. but its been like that for a while and never made the noise before. i think its something transmission related but we never touched the tranny, other then the torque converter bell housing and flywheel. cause i can feel it on the ground of the car it makes it vibrate....im confused, no one has had this problem?

sounds like incorrect assembly of one of the rotating parts or incorrect clearances. in other words, a serious problem. did you make sure the torque converter was snug and then rotate it?
this doesn't really seem like a problem that can be diagnosed over the net. you kinda have to locate the source of the noise. if you are sure it's not any rubbing suspension components, then sounds like it's going to require seperating the engine and trans, if not dissasembling the tranny. Good luck.

lol, its because your car hates you. you got it all excited when you said engine swap, and then it was disapointed when you dropped another v6 in it
